Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

When your dog passes the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, it indicates to others that your canine companion can now be considered a respected member of his or her community and shows that your dog can behave well in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs.  We sometimes offer a class that is specifically geared towards this test, but you also can have your dog tested after completing an Intermediate Obedience Class. This test and/or class is for all ages and for all dogs--purebred or mixed breeds. Your dog must  complete and pass the ten (10) American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC)  and/or Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) requirements. Once your dog passes these tests, you  will  receive a certificate and/or title from the American Kennel Club. The CGC and/or CGCA is now a recognized optional title for your dog. • No specific CGC Class is scheduled at this time, but you may contact the Training Director  after completing an Intermediate Obedience Class to set up a time to have your dog tested.
