When your dog passes the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, it indicates to others that your canine companion can now be considered a respected member of his or her community and shows that your dog can behave well in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. We sometimes offer a class that is specifically geared towards this test, but you also can have your dog tested after completing an Intermediate Obedience Class. This test and/or class is for all ages and for all dogs--purebred or mixed breeds. Your dog must complete and pass the ten (10) American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and/or Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) requirements. Once your dog passes these tests, you will receive a certificate and/or title from the American Kennel Club. The CGC and/or CGCA is now a recognized optional title for your dog. Click here for more info: Canine Good Citizen. Six-week CGC Class Sessions at IRDTC are $80 for non-members and $50 for members (includes $20 fee for CGC test).
This is a prep class for the advanced version of Canine Good Citizen, and will be held off-campus, with the first class at Lowes Garden Center, Malabar Rd., Palm Bay. Click here to get all the details about this title on the AKC website: Community Canine. Six-week CGC Class Sessions at IRDTC are $80 for non-members and $50 for members (includes $20 fee for CGC test).
