Rally Skills
This class is intended primarily for handlers and dogs that have little or no experience with AKC Rally but want to learn more about this sport. However, more experienced Rally handlers with "green" dogs might also find this class helpful. You do not need to be ready or even interested in competition but if you are, this class will provide a solid foundation for competition handling. The class will emphasize learning and practicing the skills progressions from Rally Novice through Rally Master for heeling, sits, downs, stands, pivots and other turns, back-ups, recalls, spins, and fronts and finishes. Rally signs will be used, NOT as a "course," but rather to inform the learning experience for dogs and handlers. There is NO pre-requisite for this course, but dogs must be socialized (non-reactive) and be able to work on-lead in a group setting. Off-lead work will be minimal. All dogs over 6 months of age are welcome. Limited to 8 participants/dogs.
Prerequisite: Dog and handler have either completed the Beginning Obedience Class OR achieved the first leg of a Beginner Novice Title.
Please bring a crate. Dogs MUST be crated when not in the ring.
