GENERAL INFORMATION
This introductory class to basic obedience skills are for dogs who are 18 weeks (4-1/2 months) old or older.  Skills introduced include heeling, recalls, walking on a loose leash, sit, down, and both sit-stays and down-stays.  Each exercise is designed to help pet owners have a well behaved pet and to encourage those owners that might want to move on to more advanced training.  Each lesson features a homework assignment to help owners practice at home.  Dogs that have started the AKC STAR Program but were unable to complete the requirements in the Puppy Class may complete them in this class.  Students entering this class also receive a training collar and leash.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND?
1. Download and print the IRDTC Aggressive Dog Policy and Waiver linked below. Please sign this form and bring it with you the first day of class. (If you don't have access to a printer, we will have blank forms available at the training facility.)
2. Make a copy of your dog's shot records to bring with you the first day of class.
3. Complete the online registration. You can either pay online using a credit card or Paypal account, or you can bring cash or a check the first day of class.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
1. Lots of small, soft food treats as rewards.
2. All vaccination records. Without these, you will not be allowed in the class.
3. It helps to have pants with pockets or bring something that attaches to your waist to hold your dog’s treats.

WHAT NOT TO BRING?
No heels!  The floors in our training rings are made of a soft material that is safe for dogs.  Shoes with heels could damage the flooring.
